We're often asked how we handle screens at the centre. The honest answer: we don't use them, and we encourage families to keep screen time minimal at home for the under-fives.
Young brains grow through movement, touch, real faces, and real voices. Screens are wonderfully engaging β but they replace the slower, messier, three-dimensional learning that builds attention spans and language.
We're not strict about it. Family movie night, a video call with grandparents, a song while dinner cooks β these are part of life. The goal is balance, and protecting the chunks of the day where a child can be bored, curious, and physical.
If your child is at a centre with screens, that's okay too. What matters most is what happens for the other waking hours β and the connection you bring to it.
